Virat Kohli keeps promise to Wasim Akram; scores 2 hundreds in Australia series

Canberra, Jan 20: India's flamboyant cricketer Virat Kohli kept the promise he made to Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram in Perth on January 12 by slamming 2 centuries in the ongoing 5-match ODI series against Australia.

Kohli kept his word by slamming the second consecutive hundred in the ongoing series. After having missed a ton in Perth, Kohli promised Akram that he would get 2 three-figure marks in the remaining matches.

At the Manuka Oval here on Wednesday (January 20), Kohli brought up his 25th century in ODIs to become joint 4th in the all-time list headed by batting legend Sachin Tendulkar. Kohli hit a 84-ball ton today.

The 27-year-old Kohli is also the fastest to 25 ODI tons, in his 162nd innings. Today's three-figure knock is his 15th batting second. Tendulkar is the leader in most ODI century-makers list with 49.

Australia's Ricky Ponting is second with 30 followed by Sanath Jayasuriya of Sri Lanka with 28. In the last game at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on January 17 (Sunday), Kohli became the fastest to score 24 ODI tons. In the same game, he became the quickest to score 7,000 ODI runs.

Team India has lost the ongoing series against Australia and are trailing 0-3. The 4th ODI is being played at the today (January 20).
