New Delhi, Aug 1: Former India captian Kapil Dev has lauded India's Test skipper Virat Kohli and feels the 27-year-old batsman is capable of breaking Brian Lara's Test record of 400.
'Virat Kohli is the best batsman at the moment'
Virat Kohli smashed his maiden double hundred in Test cricket against West Indies in Antigua, last week and became first Indian skipper to slam a double on foreign soil.
Kapil said Kohli was not as talented as Tendulkar but added that the former did not have the mental block that bugged the Master Blaster for the better part of his career.
"At his age, Sachin Tendulkar was more talented. But then he had that mental block. He would get to a hundred and then get into a rut," he said. ('Root is the best not Kohli')
Earlier, India's 1983 World Cup-winning skipper rated the flamboyant Delhi batsman a step ahead of all-time greats like as Viv Richards, Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara and Sachin Tendulkar.

The legendary India all-rounder admitted that he is in awe of the "phenomenon called Kohli", and said the 27-year-old middle order batsman has matured into a "performer whose benchmarks would be near impossible to match".
