
New Delhi, Aug 4: Former India opener Virender Sehwag on Friday (August 4) paid tribute to late playback singer Kishore Kumar on his 88th birth anniversary.
The 'Nawab of Najafgarh' who has developed a knack to wish or remember people in a unique style on their birthdays has always been a huge fan of the legendary singer, music composer and actor.
Kishore Kumar, who is hailed as one of the most prolific playback singers in Indian cinema, is still remembered for hundreds of iconic songs he sang in his career.
Sehwag, while paying his tributes to the legend, shared an image of Kishore Kumar on his Twitter handle and captioned it, "On his birth anniversary,remembering my hidden batting partner #KishoreKumar. Chala jaata hoon, Kisi ki dhun me, Dhadakte dil ke taraane liye."
Sehwag, the aggressive India opener, has revealed on numerous occasions how he used to sing the legendary singer's songs while batting.
There were several instances when the Delhi batsman was seen crooning while batting. As per Sehwag, crooning Kishore Kumar's songs while batting helped him concentrate and not get distracted by whatever happened on field.
Sehwag has earned the reputation of one of the most destructive batsman across all formats. The right-handed batsman was most dangerous in Test cricket, where he has played several marathon knocks.
He is the only Indian batsman to have scored two 300-plus scores in Test cricket. He slammed 219 in an ODI match which is the third-highest individual score in the 50-overs format.
