VVS Laxman trolls Russel Arnold for his prediction about India-SL ODI series

New Delhi, Dec 8: Former India cricketer VVS Laxman on Friday (December 8) trolled former Sri Lanka cricketer Russel Arnold after the latter came up with his prediction of the upcoming ODI series between the two teams.

Arnold, who is part of the commentary panel in the Island nation's ongoing tour of India, took to his Twitter handle to claim Team India is going to face stiff challenge by the visitors this time around and the result of the series will not be like the one when India toured the neighbouring country a couple of months back.

Team India, under the leadership of Virat Kohli, whitewashed Sri Lanka in the ODI series 5-0 and later won the T20I series 3-0. Kohli and Company had also won the 3-Test series by 3-0, thus returning home undefeated.

However, Sri Lanka improved a lot, post humiliation at the hands of the Indian team. Contrary to the popular belief, they lost the recent 3-Test series against India by a margin of 1-0. Chandimal and his boys had a major morale booster ahead of the limited-overs' series as they managed to salvage a draw on the fifth and final day of the third Test match at Feroz Shah Kotla.

Upbeat with the Lankan team's impressive performance in the Test series would have propelled Arnold to come to the conclusion that his team wouldn't suffer a whitewash this time around.

Arnold wrote, "So Test series ends 1-0 and I can promise you the ODI's wont end 5-0 like it did a few months ago!!!"

Laxman, who is also a part of the commentary panel indulged into a twitter banter and trolled him.

Reminding Arnold that it's a 3-match series, Laxman tweeted, "Sure Russel, it won't in a 3 match series. This prediction won't fail."

India and Sri Lanka will face each other in the first ODI in Dharamsala on Sunday (December 10). India's inspirational skipper Virat Kohli will not be a part of the team as he has taken a break. Sources claim that Kohli is off to Europe for a destination wedding with his actor girlfriend Anushka Sharma.

In the meantime, Rohit Sharma will be leading the Men In Blue in Kohli's absence. This is Rohit's first assignment as India skipper.
