Waqar Younis announces his 'Modern Day ODI World 12'; 2 Indians in the team

Bengaluru, Sep 3: Former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis has picked his "Modern Day ODI World 12" which features 2 Indians.

In recent times, former cricketers have either picked their "All Time XIs" or current best teams in both Tests and ODIs. (1 Indian in 1990s World XI)

Test captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma (opener) are the 2 Indians who were chosen by Waqar.

Australia's Steve Smith is picked as the captain of the team which also has AB de Villiers of South Africa.

For former Pakistan coach Waqar, it was an easy selection to put Kohli, Smith and De Villiers in the side while many fans were surprised to see England left-hander Moeen Ali's name.

Pakistan's young left-arm quick Mohammad Amir, who was banned for spot-fixing, too finds a place. Many questioned his selection due to his involvement in the fixing scandal.

Waqar's team has 3 left-arm fast bowlers and no specialist spinner. Mitchell Starc of Australia and Bangladesh's Mustafizur Rahman are the other 2 left-arm fast bowlers along with Amir.
