Tendulkar, who made his Test debut at a tender age of 16, retired from cricket on this day today (November 16, 2013) against West Indies after representing India for exactly 24 long years.
Interestingly, the youngster fielded for rival Pakistan side two years before making his international debut for India. (Watch Sachin's farewell speech)
Sachin fielded for Pakistan during a practice match at Mumbai held in 1987. The veteran India cricketer recalled in his autobiography that Javed Miandad and Abdul Qadir had left the field during lunch, after which he was asked to field for the visiting team.
Pakistan's legendary pacer Waqar Younis also made his Test debut in the same Test match.
Besides Tendulkar and Younis, two other players Salil Ankola and Shahid Saeed debuted for India and Pakistan respectively.
The 'God of Cricket', Tendulkar, played 200 matches and amassed 15,921 Test runs.
The right-handed Mumbai batsman slammed 51 centuries and 68 half centuries in his illustrious career spanning 24 years.

While, Younis - the right-arm quick from Pakistan - too is hailed as one of the best seam bowlers the game has witnessed.
Both Tendulkar and Younis shared pleasantries on micro-blogging site Twitter to remember their Test debuts 27 years ago.
""Time gone quickly" On this day 27 years ago Me & the Great @sachin_rt made a debut at Karachi. Photos bring back all the wonderful memories," tweeted Younis.

Sachin too reciprocated to former's gesture and tweeted, "Playing for the country was always a dream. What a memorable moment it was! Time has flown quickly indeed, but you weren't any slower either."

Sachin may not have had a memorable outing in his debut match and could only score 15 runs but young Waqar had a great debut match. Younis grabbed 4 wickets in that Test match and even dismissed Tendulkar in that game.
India cricketers greeted Sachin:
Thank you so much for your kind words! When it comes to honesty and sincerity, we can always count on you :) https://t.co/rKIfpPfu4s
