World Cup 2023: Diets of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Pakistan, New Zealand and Australian cricket team revealed

The members of the Indian cricket team are paying special attention to their diet in the World Cup 2023, and a few of the players are even traveling with their personal chefs.

Star India batter Virat Kohli, who is currently the second-highest (354) run-scorer in the World Cup 2023, is preferring an all vegan diet. Effort is also made to include dairy products aways from his menu.

"Virat doesn't eat meat and so we went for steamed foods like vegetarian dim sums, and other vegetable-based proteins, like soya mock meats, and lean proteins like tofu for him. We include as little dairy as possible in his meals," Anushman Bali, executive chef at Leela Palace told Times of India in an interaction.

During the course of the interaction with TOI, Bali also revealed that a few players like Rohit Sharma and Hardik Pandya come with their own chefs at the hotel and get the meals of their choice prepared.

The ragi dosas were Team India's favourite for breakfast, Bali said. "We have millet dosas, millet idlis and quinoa idli on the menu. All the players know it's healthy protein, so they all tried it,” TOI quoted Bali as saying.

The New Zealand team has also stayed at the Leela Palace in Chennai. The Kiwis stay away from curries but Devon Conway has a liking for Indian food and asks for parathas and dosas.

Furthermore, the Pakistan cricket team prefers grilled meat and curries. Chicken makhanis, kormas, niharis, and rogan josh are their popular choice. Bali said that rogan josh is preferred by Indian players as well.

Teams are staying away from alcohol and consuming it in a very little quantity in case something is being celebrated. Also, dal chawal was being consumed by all the teams including Australia.
