WPL 2024: Full List Of Woman Cricketers Released By All 5 Teams Ahead Of WPL 2024 Auction

The preparations for the second edition of the highly-anticipated Women's Premier League (WPL) will begin with the upcoming WPL 2024 Auction.

The BCCI on Friday (November 24) announced the list of players released and retained by the five WPL franchises. The venue and date for the WPL 2024 Auction were also announced. It will be held on December 9 in Mumbai.

The second season of WPL will be held in February-March next year with Mumbai Indians starting to defend their title in the premier domestic T20 tournament. Mumbai Indians - who are being led by India captain Harmanpreet Kaur - defeated Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals in the final at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

The inaugural edition of the Women's Premier League, also known as Women's IPL, was held across three venues in Mumbai in February-March this year. The five teams played some fierce games.

On Friday, the five WPL franchises i.e. Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz unveiled the list of players released and retained ahead of the WPL Auction.

A total of 60 woman cricketers, including 21 from overseas, were retained ahead of the auction. While 29 players were released from the existing squads.

Delhi Capitals released three players while Gujarat Giants released, as many as 12 players. Mumbai Indians released four, Royal Challengers Bangalore released seven players, while UP Warriorz let go of four cricketers.

Full list of players released by five teams ahead of the WPL 2024 Auction:

Delhi Capitals Released Players: Aparna Mondal, Jasia Akhter, Tara Norris.

Gujarat Giants Released Players: Annabel Sutherland, Ashwani Kumari, Georgia Wareham, Hurley Gala, Kim Garth, Mansi Joshi, Monica Patel, Parunika Sisodia, Sabbineni Meghana, Sophia Dunkley, Sushma Verma.

Mumbai Indians: Dhara Gujjar, Heather Graham, Neelam Bisht, Sonam.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Dane Van Niekerk, Erin Burns, Komal Zanzad, Megan Schutt, Poonam Khemnar, Preeti Bose, Sahana Pawar.

UP Warriorz: Devika Vaidya, Shabnim Ismail, Shivali Shinde, Simran Shaikh.
