Dong Ye made his international debut in 2006, representing China. Over the years, he has amassed a series of impressive accolades. In 2016, he received the Sports Honour Medal from the General Administration of Sport of China. His career milestones are equally noteworthy.

At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Dong Ye became the first trampoline gymnast to win four Olympic medals by securing a silver medal. Earlier, his silver medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games made him the first male trampoline gymnast to win three Olympic medals. In 2018, he became the first trampoline gymnast from China to win 12 career world championship gold medals.

Transition to Coaching

After retiring from competition following the 2021 National Games in Shaanxi, China, Dong Ye transitioned into coaching. He joined the coaching staff for the Chinese team at the 2021 World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. He also took up a coaching position with the Shanxi provincial team.

Dong Ye expressed confidence in his new role: "From athlete to coach, the role has changed, but I feel that I can handle it very well because I am still working in the field that I am familiar with. I have an athlete career of 19 years and definitely can pass down some of my experiences to younger athletes as a coach."

Personal Interests and Education

Away from trampolining, Dong Ye enjoys singing. He is also inspired by Russian trampoline gymnast Alexander Moskalenko. His educational background includes a degree in Public Administration from Tianjin University of Science and Technology. Additionally, he has pursued a master's degree at Beijing Sport University.

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Dong Ye aims to continue contributing to trampolining through his coaching roles. His extensive experience as an athlete positions him well to mentor and develop future talents in the sport.
