Ngapeth has played for Zenit Kazan in Russia and has been coached by Laurent Tillie at the national level. Known for his role as a wing spiker, he has earned several accolades. He was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the 2015 and 2017 World League. Additionally, he received the Best Outside Spiker award at the 2015 European Championship in Bulgaria and Italy.

Earvin's name was inspired by US basketball player Earvin 'Magic' Johnson, who was his father's idol. He is also known by nicknames such as Pepethe and Magic.

Ngapeth has faced several injuries throughout his career. In March 2020, he was hospitalised for two weeks in Kazan due to COVID-19 symptoms. His training was disrupted ahead of the 2019 European Championship due to a muscle injury but he still participated in the tournament.
