Iorio trains with GS Fiamme Oro, a prominent club in Italy. Her national coach, Enrico Casella, has been instrumental in her development. Under his guidance, she has honed her skills and achieved remarkable success on the international stage.

Injuries and Recovery

Throughout her career, Iorio has faced several injuries. In 2019, she injured her left ankle during the all-around final at the World Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. This injury prevented her from competing on the uneven bars. In September 2020, she sustained a ligament injury in her right ankle during training and required surgery. She returned to competition in May 2021.

In 2021, Iorio underwent surgery for a shoulder problem that had troubled her for months. Despite these setbacks, she has shown resilience and determination in her recovery process.

Milestones

One of Iorio's significant achievements came in 2019 when she was part of the group that won Italy's first artistic gymnastics team medal at the World Championships in 69 years. The team claimed bronze in the women's team event in Stuttgart, Germany.

Lockdown Experience

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Iorio spent two months in isolation with her teammates in Brescia, Italy. The lockdown period was challenging as they were unable to see their families and were banned from entering the gym. However, this time helped Iorio bond with her teammates and understand the value of small things.

"We were locked inside with about 10 athletes, our coach Enrico Casella, and the cook," Iorio recalls. "We couldn't see anyone, not even our parents. At the beginning it was difficult, but with the passing of the days it got better."

Ambitions

Looking ahead, Iorio aims to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. This goal reflects her dedication to gymnastics and her desire to represent Italy on one of the biggest stages in sports.

Personal Interests

Outside of gymnastics, Iorio enjoys travelling and listening to music. These hobbies provide a balance to her rigorous training schedule and help her relax during downtime.
