Emma Coburn Biography

Coburn's interest in track running began in middle school, influenced by her siblings. She followed her brother and sister into long-distance running. Her training regime includes running 80 miles a week and lifting weights three times a week. She trains in both Boulder and Crested Butte, benefiting from high-altitude conditions.

International Debut and Achievements

Emma made her international debut in 2011 at the World Championships in Daegu, South Korea, representing the United States. Her most memorable achievement came in 2017 when she won gold in the 3000m steeplechase at the World Championships in London.

Injuries and Comebacks

Throughout her career, Coburn has faced several injuries. In June 2013, she suffered a sacral stress fracture. In late 2015, she dealt with a recurring Achilles tendon injury. She also had a foot injury in late 2018. Despite these setbacks, she has consistently returned to top form.
