Lefort's family moved to Gourbeyre, Guadeloupe, when he was three. His talent led him to mainland France as a teenager to join the national training hub in Chatenay-Malabry. In 2010, he entered the National Institute for Sport, Expertise and Performance (INSEP) in Paris. He later completed a degree in physiotherapy in 2018.
