Evy began paddling at age four and first tried a slalom boat at age seven. Her father, a former national whitewater slalom team member and U.S. Junior National Team Coach, greatly influenced her career. Her mother, Jean Folger, was also involved in whitewater rafting.

Olympic and World Championship Performances

Leibfarth made her Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020, finishing 12th in Women's Kayak Single (K1) and 18th in Women's Canoe Single (C1). She was the youngest female to compete in both events and the only female USA slalom paddler to qualify.

In World Championships, she secured a bronze medal in Women's Extreme Canoe Slalom in 2021. Other notable finishes include fourth place in Women's Canoe Single in 2019 and seventh place in the same event in 2023.

Training Regimen

Evy incorporates running, biking, surfing, and skateboarding into her training routine. During the off-season, she trains three times a day for one-and-a-half hours each session, six days a week.

Looking ahead, Evy plans to compete in the Women's Kayak Cross Time Trial scheduled for August 2, 2024. She aims to continue improving her performance and achieving higher rankings in future competitions.

Apart from canoe slalom, Evy enjoys freestyle kayaking, river running, surfing, stand-up paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, cooking, and drawing. She is also a student studying Biology at Davidson College in North Carolina.
