Al-Deehani's journey in shooting started during his years at the Military College. He spent countless hours training at the Hunting and Equestrian Club. Al-Deehani made his international debut in 1991, representing Kuwait at the Asian Championships in Beijing, China. This marked the beginning of a distinguished career that would see him compete on some of the world's biggest stages.

One of Al-Deehani's most memorable achievements came at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. He became the first Kuwaiti athlete to win an Olympic medal, securing bronze in double trap. This historic moment was a significant milestone for both Al-Deehani and Kuwait.

Independent Athlete Triumph

In 2016, Al-Deehani made history again at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Competing as an Independent Olympic Athlete due to the suspension of the Kuwait Olympic Committee by the IOC, he won gold in men's double trap. This victory was a testament to his resilience and skill.

Challenges and Setbacks

Throughout his career, Al-Deehani faced several challenges. In 1994, he suffered back problems and third-degree burns on both hands. Despite these setbacks, he continued to train and compete at the highest level.

At the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, Al-Deehani experienced an unusual disruption. Dragonflies landed on his gun during both the men's trap and double trap finals, affecting his performance. Despite this bad luck, he remained focused and continued to compete.

Personal Life and Interests

Apart from shooting, Al-Deehani enjoys football, karate, and hunting. He is fluent in Arabic and English and holds a degree in Military Studies from the Kuwaiti Military Academy. He is also a family man with four children.
