Bengaluru FC's AFC Cup tie against Aizawl FC rescheduled for April 5 from March 8

Bengaluru, March 5: Bengaluru FC's AFC Cup tie with Aizawl FC, scheduled for March 8, has been moved to April 5 owing to BFC's semi-final games in the Indian Super League.

Bengaluru FC qualified as the leaders in the league stage of the ISL, with 40 points in 18 games and eight clear of second-placed Chennaiyin FC. They will take on FC Pune City, the team that finished fourth in the league stage with 30 points. Chennaiyin FC, on the other hand, face FC Goa, who also have 30 points.

The two-legged semi-finals of Bengaluru FC will be held on March 7 and 11. BFC first visit the Balewadi Stadium in an away clash and then host FC Pune City in the second leg at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Chennaiyin FC and FC Goa will play each other on March 10 and 13.

Owing to BFC's semi-final commitments, the AFC Cup tie with 2017 I-League champions Aizawl FC will be held in Aizawl on April 5. There is no change in the other AFC Cup tie, to be held against Abahani Dhaka on March 14.

"Bengaluru FC's 2018 AFC Cup away match against Aizawl FC has been rescheduled, and will now take place on April 5th, 2018," read a club statement. "The Blues will take on Abahani Dhaka, as scheduled, on March 14th, 2018, at the Kanteerava Stadium."
