Phurba Lachenpa, born on 04 February 1998, is a professional Goalkeeper from India. Wearing jersey number 1, and has been an important part of the squad with his consistent performances. He has consistently contributed with strong performances throughout his career.
A graduate of the Shillong Lajong FC Academy, Phurba Lachenpa signed a professional contract with the Meghalaya-based club in 2015. The Sikkimese shot-stopper made 24 appearances during his four seasons there before signing for another Hero I-League club Real Kashmir FC in 2019. A regular starter in Real Kashmir FC’s fourth-place finish during the 2019-20 season, Lachenpa impressed as he kept eight clean sheets in 19 appearances across all competitions, conceding only 17 goals in the process. During the 2020-21 Hero ISL, Lachenpa represented Mumbai City FC and made his debut in the Islanders’ second-leg semifinal against FC Goa. Lachenpa replaced Amrinder Singh in the penalty shootout and helped his team reach the final where they beat ATK Mohun Bagan.
