Top 6 Hindi Sports Biopics In IMDb Ratings: Sachin, Milkha Singh, MS Dhoni, Dangal, Paan Singh Tomar Biopics Lead The List

Bollywood movie Maidaan is set to hit the theatres on Wednesday (April 10) worldwide. The Hindi flick, which sees ace actor Ajay Devgn as a protagonist, is a biographical sports drama based on the life and achievements of former Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim.

The Indian Football, under the tutelage of legendary coach Syed Abdul Rahim, became the best football team in Asia. The period under Rahim is termed the golden era of Indian Football as the national team won two Asian Games Gold and even made it to the semi-finals of the Melbourne Olympics.

Produced by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and directed by Amit Sharma, the film has received a thumbs up from critics for its story, acting, goosebumps moments and heart-pumping climax. It is expected to do good business at the box office.

Ranveer Singh portrayed Kapil Dev while his real-life wife Deepika Padukone depicted Kapil's wife, Romie Bhatia. The film highlighted the Indian Cricket Team's journey from underdogs to emerging champions against all odds during the English summer.
