Sao Paulo, June 23: Three-time finalists Netherlands will take on Chile in their final group game at the Arena de So Paulo here on Monday.

Both teams have made it to the second round from Group B after winning two consecutive matches and the significance of today's match lies in who tops the group. A major incentive for the two teams will be to avoid Brazil, who have all the chances to finish at the top in Group A, in the next round.

Both the Netherlands and Chile defeated defending champions Spain and underdogs Australia to knock them out of the finals of the World Cup. The Dutch, however, lead over the Chileans (+4) owing to a better goal difference (+5).

The scenario in Group A is still not clear. Brazil, who have equal points with Mexico but have a better goal-difference will need to beat Cameroon handsomely to retain the top spot in the group. Mexico and Croatia will take on each other in another match, making it virtually the play-off in that group.

The Netherlands will bank heavily on the deadly duo of Robin van Persie and Arjen Robben, both of whom have scored three goals each in this World Cup so far. The Chileans will have their task cut out in stopping Arjen who clocked 37 kilometres per hour in this tournament, a record for a footballer.
The Dutch have had a near-perfect run so far except a few worrying patches against Australia against whom they were trailing 1-2 at one moment but bounced back to win 3-2.

The Chileans, on the other hand, might be hit by the injury of Arturo Vidal and Charles Aranguiz, both of whom came off injured during the Latin Americans' 2-0 win over Spain that sent the reigning champions packing.

The match will begin at 9.30 pm IST.
