Walsh set a world record in the Women's 100m Butterfly with a time of 55.18 seconds on 15 June 2024, in Indianapolis, IN. This record broke the previous mark of 55.48 seconds set by Sarah Sjoestroem at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Walsh's previous best was 56.14 seconds, achieved in April 2024.

At the 2023 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, Walsh secured three medals: gold in the Women's 4 x 100m Medley Relay, silver in the Women's 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay, and bronze in the Women's 50m Butterfly.
