Despite India's resurgence, Malaysia continued to test their defence and were rewarded in the 14th minute when Abu Kamal Azari scored after being set up by Azuan Hasan. Towards the end of the first quarter, India had back-to-back penalty corners but failed to capitalize on either opportunity.

In the second quarter, Malaysia maintained their momentum and earned consecutive penalty corners in the 18th minute. Razie Rahim successfully converted one of them with a deflection off Amit Rohidas' stick.

Malaysia extended their lead further when Muhamad Aminudin capitalized on another penalty corner opportunity in the 28th minute, giving his team a comfortable 3-1 advantage at halftime.

Despite facing an uphill battle, India turned things around within a span of just one minute. Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty stroke in the 45th minute while Gurjant Singh swiftly followed suit with a field goal to level the scores at 3-3.

With six minutes remaining on the clock, India earned a crucial penalty corner but failed to score as Harmanpreet's flick was saved by Malaysia's goalkeeper. Undeterred by this setback, India continued to apply pressure and won another penalty corner soon after; however, Harmanpreet missed wide this time.

It was Akashdeep Singh who eventually secured victory for India with an emphatic slap shot from outside 'D', courtesy of Mandeep Singh's assist. It was a hard-fought victory for India, who showcased their resilience and determination to come from behind and claim the Asian Champions Trophy title.
