Hockey World Cup 2023
The FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2023 is being held in Rourkela and Bhubaneswar between January 13 and 29. India is hosting the tournament for the second consecutive time.
The 2018 Hockey World Cup was also held in Bhubaneswar. Unlike the previous edition, the 2023 Men's Hockey World Cup will host matches will at two venues - Birsa Mundra Hockey Stadium in Rourkela and Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. While 20 matches will be hosted in Rourkela, 24 matches, including the final, will be held in Bhubaneswar. Hosts India will be playing their first two Pool D matches in Rourkela while they will arrive in Bhubaneswar for their final group game.
16 teams are participating in the quadrennial event as holders Belgium - who defeated the Netherlands in the 2018 Hockey World Cup Final - will be aiming to defend their title. Odisha Government has made elaborate arrangements to make the Hockey World Cup 2023 a grand success.
