Šime Fantela Biography

Fantela's career took off when he won gold in the 470 class at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. This victory marked a milestone as he and his crewmate Igor Marenic became the first sailors representing Croatia to win gold at the Olympics. They also triumphed at the 2009 470 class world championships in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In addition to his Olympic success, Fantela has received numerous awards and honours. He was presented with the Order of Danica Hrvatska with the image of Franjo Bucar in December 2016.
