Jakob Fuglsang Biography

Fuglsang's most memorable achievement is winning silver in the road race at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He also represented Denmark in mountain biking at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, where he ranked 25th in cross-country.

Injuries and Setbacks

Throughout his career, Fuglsang has faced several injuries. In the 2019 Tour de France, he suffered trauma to his left wrist and had to abandon the race. In 2017, he fractured his elbow and wrist during stage 11 of the Tour de France and had to withdraw after stage 13.

In 2015, a photographer's motorbike knocked him off his bike during stage 18 of the Tour de France, causing a cut on his arm. Additionally, he fractured his hand during the third stage of the 2012 Volta a Catalunya in Spain but returned to racing with a cast after an operation.

Fuglsang was voted Danish Rider of the Year in both 2007 and 2017. These accolades highlight his consistent performance and dedication to the sport over the years.
