Patrice's interest in fencing was sparked by his childhood fascination with pirate films and 'Star Wars'. His brother preferred soccer, but Patrice embraced fencing. He joined Cercle d'Escrime Orleanais, where he trains under coach Vincent Anstett.

Patrice currently trains at the Paris Fencing Academy. He resides in Paris with his partner, Erica Cipressa, an accomplished fencer who won bronze in women's team foil at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
