Initially, Jiménez faced disappointment as she felt she was not improving. She then shifted her focus to athletics and participated in a junior national competition. However, a former coach encouraged her to return to artistic swimming. At 14, she decided to dedicate herself fully to the sport.

During a competition in Oaxtepec, Mexico, she saw the national team perform and was inspired to join them. "I wanted to be in that team and represent Mexico," she said. This moment marked a turning point in her career.

Training Regime and Coaching

Jiménez trains up to nine hours a day under the guidance of national coach Adriana Loftus. Her rigorous training regime reflects her commitment to excelling in artistic swimming. Her dedication paid off when she qualified for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, which she considers her most memorable sporting achievement.

Achievements and Recognition

In 2020, Jiménez received the State of Mexico Sports Award, recognising her contributions and achievements in the sport. She also transitioned from being a reserve to a first-choice athlete in 2019 when partnered with Nuria Diosdado. "Training as a substitute is difficult," she said, but her perseverance helped her secure a prominent position in the team.

Educational Pursuits

Beyond her athletic career, Jiménez has pursued higher education. She holds a degree in psychology from the Latin American University in Mexico City. Additionally, she has studied for a master's degree in sports psychology at the Technological University of Mexico (UNITEC).

Future Ambitions

Looking ahead, Jiménez aims to achieve a top-10 finish at the 2022 World Championships in Fukuoka, Japan. Her journey from a young enthusiast to an accomplished athlete showcases her determination and passion for artistic swimming.
