John Peers Biography

Peers pursued higher education in finance at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He later continued his studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. This change rekindled his love for tennis, which he had started to lose during his second year of college.

Professional Career

Peers turned professional in 2011 and decided to focus on doubles in 2013. He reached the finals of Wimbledon and the US Open in 2015 with British partner Jamie Murray. Although their partnership ended that year, Peers continued to excel. In 2017, he won the Australian Open title alongside Finnish player Henri Kontinen.

Doubles Specialist

Peers has embraced the role of a doubles specialist. He enjoys being part of a team and finds it less lonely than playing singles. "Winning the Aussie Open last year [2017] was very special," he said. His success in doubles includes two ATP Finals doubles championships.

Peers is married to Danielle Montgomery, a professional golfer. They have two daughters, Ellie Rose, born in 2017, and Harper Grace, born in 2019. The family resides in Perth, Western Australia.
