Jun Woong-Tae Biography

Jun's training regime is rigorous. He starts at 06:00 and dedicates 90 minutes to each event. His coaches, Yoon Il-Mo at the club level and Choi Eun-Jong at the national level, guide him through this demanding schedule.

Injuries and Recovery

In May 2020, Jun sprained his ankle during training. Earlier, in high school, he fractured his arm after a fall from a horse, sidelining him for three months. Despite these setbacks, he has continued to excel in his sport.

Awards and Honours

Jun's achievements have been recognised with several awards. In 2020, he received an Excellence Award from the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee. In 2019, he was honoured with a Special Athlete Award at the Sogang Sports Awards.

His accolades also include the Best Senior Male Pentathlete Award and the Men's World Rankings Top 6 Award at the 2018 UIPM Annual Awards in Cyprus. In 2015, he was given the Best Athlete Award by the Seoul Sports Council.
