Challenges and Injuries

Clement's career has seen its share of challenges. In 2010, illness cut short his season. He pulled his right groin during the 2011 World Championships in Daegu, South Korea. A recurrence of this injury in 2012 led to hernia surgery and nine weeks of recovery.

After competing continuously for around 12 years, Clement took a break following the 2013 World Championships in Moscow. He returned to competition in 2015 after a sabbatical year. This break was essential for his mental well-being.
