Kristóf Rasovszky Biography

Rasovszky's accomplishments include being named among the University Athletes of the Year for 2019 by the Hungarian University Sports Federation. This recognition followed his gold medal win at the 2019 World Championships in Gwangju, Republic of Korea. Additionally, he was named Male Open Water Swimmer of the Year for both 2018 and 2019 by the European Swimming Federation (LEN).

In 2020, Rasovszky became the first male athlete representing Hungary to win a medal in open water swimming at the Olympic Games. He claimed silver in the 10km event at the Tokyo Games. Earlier, he had made history by becoming the first Hungarian male to win a gold medal in open water swimming at the World Championships, securing victory in the 5km event in Gwangju in 2019.

After winning gold in the 5km event at the 2019 World Championships, Rasovszky posed for photos with Sudanese swimmer Mohamed Ibrahim, who had finished last. Rasovszky stated, "Anyone who competes here and finishes the distance is a champion regardless of their placement."
