Darmanin has received several accolades throughout her career. She was named Female Sailor of the Year by Yachting Australia in 2015 and 2016. In 2012, she was honoured as Sportswoman of the Year by the University of New South Wales. A significant milestone came in 2016 when she and her cousin Jason Waterhouse won silver in the Nacra 17 class at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Family Ties in Sailing

Darmanin's family has a strong sailing background. She and her cousin Jason Waterhouse have competed together since 2008, winning their first medal in 2009 at the Youth World Championships in Brazil. Her uncle Rod and aunt Kerry have also represented Australia internationally, competing at the 2014 Hobie World Championships.

Professional and Personal Life

Outside of sailing, Darmanin has worked as an events organiser for SailGP, aiming to make sailing more accessible to the public.
