She pursued higher education in Economics at Erasmus University in Rotterdam. Alongside her academic pursuits, she developed a keen interest in sailing, which she started at a young age.

She is a member of WSV Hoorn, based in Hoorn, Netherlands. Her coach, Jacco Koops, also hails from the Netherlands. Under his guidance, she has honed her skills and achieved notable success.

In 2011, she faced glandular problems that sidelined her for a few months. Despite this setback, she continued to pursue her passion for sailing. In 2009, she was honoured as 'Sportswoman of the Year' in The Hague.

Looking ahead, she aims to win a medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This goal reflects her dedication and commitment to achieving excellence in her sport.
