Macris Biography

Macris, who resides in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, pursued higher education in Physical Education at the Integrated College of St Andrew (FEFISA) in Santo André. Her early exposure to volleyball came from her parents, who were avid players themselves.

Club and National Team

Currently, Macris plays for Minas Tenis Clube in Belo Horizonte. She has been under the guidance of coaches Nicola Negro at the club level and Jose Roberto Guimaraes for the national team. Her preferred position on the court is that of a setter.

International Debut

Macris made her international debut for Brazil in 2015 during a friendly match against Japan held in Campinas, Brazil. Since then, she has been an integral part of the national team.

Achievements and Awards

Throughout her career, Macris has garnered numerous accolades. She was named Best Setter at the South American Club Championships in 2019 and 2020. Additionally, she was recognised as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2018/19 Superliga in Brazil.

Her consistent performance earned her the title of Best Setter for multiple Superliga seasons: 2013/14, 2016/17, and 2018/19. She also received the Best Setter award at the 2018 World Club Championships held in Shaoxing, China.

Personal Interests and Philosophy

Off the court, Macris enjoys spending time with her cats, reading, and going to the cinema. She looks up to Brazilian volleyball player Helia Souza as her idol. Her sporting philosophy is encapsulated in her motto: "Anyone can start again and create a new end."

Future Ambitions

Looking ahead, Macris aims to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. This goal reflects her dedication and commitment to excelling in her sport.

Known by her nickname "Fada Vegana" (Portuguese for Vegan Fairy), Macris continues to inspire many with her journey and achievements in volleyball.
