His family includes his wife Annamay Pierse and their daughter Josephine, born in 2015. Oldershaw's wife is also an accomplished athlete, having won bronze in the 4x100m medley relay at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Sporting Career

Oldershaw trains with the Burloak Canoe Club in Oakville, Ontario. His coaching team includes his father Scott Oldershaw, Larry Cain, and Laszlo Latorovszki. He trains on the water twice daily and has four strength sessions each week. His dedication paid off when he won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Challenges and Achievements

Oldershaw faced significant challenges, including two operations on his left hand to remove a cancerous bone, with the second surgery in 2005. Despite these setbacks, he continued to excel. He was named Canada's Junior Male Athlete of the Year in 2001 and served as Canada's flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the 2015 Pan American Games.
