Oldershaw resides in Burlington, Ontario, Canada. He pursued higher education in English Literature at Carleton University in Ottawa. His family includes his wife Annamay Pierse and their daughter Josephine, born in 2015. Oldershaw's wife is also an accomplished athlete, having won bronze in the 4x100m medley relay at the 2010 Commonwealth Games.

Sporting Career

Oldershaw trains with the Burloak Canoe Club in Oakville, Ontario. His coaching team includes his father Scott Oldershaw, Larry Cain, and Laszlo Latorovszki. He trains on the water twice daily and has four strength sessions each week. His dedication paid off when he won a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
