In April 2016, Boutique tore the meniscus in her left knee during training. She underwent surgery and returned to training five weeks later. Her resilience is evident as she continued to perform at high levels despite these setbacks.
Boutique cites US decathlete Ashton Eaton as her hero and coach Guido Bonsen as a significant influence. Her personal philosophy is to "get a little bit better every day" while ensuring she enjoys the process.
In October 2017, Boutique co-founded Team Para Atletiek with Bonsen and fellow athlete Fleur Jong. This move followed Bonsen's relocation from the National Sports Centre Papendal to Amsterdam. Boutique believes this decision made her stronger and more independent.
Boutique was named the 2018 Para Athlete of the Year by the Dutch Athletics Federation. She also received the Para Athlete of the Year award at the Tilburg Sports Gala in 2016 and 2017.
Looking ahead, Boutique aims to continue her education in Human Movement Studies at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. She plans to balance her academic pursuits with her athletic career, striving for excellence in both areas.
Outside of athletics, Boutique enjoys reading, solving puzzles, and watching television. She speaks Dutch and English fluently, which helps her connect with a broader audience.
Boutique's journey in Para athletics is marked by resilience and dedication. From overcoming injuries to founding a club that supports other athletes, she continues to inspire with her commitment to both personal growth and community contribution.
