Hudson-Smith's early inspiration came from his mother and Grenadian sprinter Kirani James. He joined the Birchfield Harriers club in Birmingham and has been coached by Lance Brauman since 2017. His dedication to the sport is evident from his motto: "This sport is about results."

Challenges and Injuries

Throughout his career, Hudson-Smith faced several injuries. In 2015, he suffered a hamstring injury and later three stress fractures in his back. In 2019, an injury forced him to withdraw from the World Relays in Yokohama. At age 16, he was diagnosed with a gangrenous ulcer on his left leg, which left a lasting scar.

Relocation to the USA

In 2017, Hudson-Smith moved to Florida to train under Coach Brauman. This move revitalised his career. He credits Brauman for providing direction and mental support. "We have a plan and in Coach Brauman we trust," he said.

Achievements and Ambitions

Hudson-Smith was named the 2014 Young Athlete of the Year by British Athletics. Looking ahead, he aims to compete at future Olympic Games. His consistent performance in training reflects his commitment to achieving this goal.
