Miku Takaichi Biography

Tashiro trains with the Komatsu club in Japan. Her coaches include Yoshiyuki Matsuoka at the club level and Katsuyuki Masuchi at the national level. She has drawn inspiration from Japanese judoka Ayumi Tanimoto.

Injuries and Comebacks

Tashiro has faced significant injuries during her career. In 2011, she damaged the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee during a tournament, sidelining her for a year. She returned to competitive action in 2012.

After the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, she underwent surgery on her left wrist. She made a comeback in June 2017. Despite these setbacks, Tashiro has continued to excel in judo.

Tashiro's achievements have been recognised through various awards. She received the Prize for Encouragement at the 2012 Itabashi Cultural Medal Awards Ceremony and the Cultural Excellence award at the 2011 Itabashi Honorary Awards Ceremony.
