Arshad Nadeem is 'Doping', Claim Indian Fans on Twitter After Beating Neeraj Chopra to Gold Medal at Paris Olympics

By MyKhel Staff

As the dust settles on the thrilling javelin event at the Paris Olympics 2024, where Arshad Nadeem of Pakistan clinched gold with an Olympic record-breaking throw of 92.97 meters, the reactions from Indian fans have been both intense and varied.

While Neeraj Chopra secured a silver medal with an impressive 89.45 meters, some Indian fans have expressed scepticism and suspicion over Nadeem's remarkable performance, calling for a doping test to verify the legitimacy of his win.

"KINDLY DO DOPING TEST OF ARSHAD NADEEM. WHERE EVERYBODY ARE THROWING MAX 88-89-90M," wrote one fan, echoing the sentiments of many who found Nadeem's extraordinary throw hard to believe.

Another fan added, "Look at the face 😱😱 Dope test is must now 😡 No Expression after betting #Olympic Records Even Nadeem himself knows about something wrong. Doping Serious case," implying that Nadeem's lack of visible emotion after his historic throw was suspicious.

Despite these allegations, it's important to note that both Arshad Nadeem and Neeraj Chopra, along with all other medalists, are required to submit their urine samples to the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which was present at the Paris Olympics venue. This routine procedure is a standard part of ensuring fair play and integrity in the sport.

However, not all Indian fans were quick to jump to conclusions. Some took to social media to defend Nadeem and urge others to respect the achievements of all athletes, regardless of nationality.

"To everyone trending 'Doping' just because a Pakistani athlete won gold 🥇, please have some shame. Learn to appreciate others first before considering yourself qualified to watch any sport. #Paris2024 #JavelinThrow #ArshadNadeem #NeerajChopra," wrote a fan, countering the doping accusations.

Many Indian fans also expressed admiration and respect for Nadeem's journey and accomplishments.

"Once, there was no money to buy Javelin. Now, An Olympic Champion. - The story of Arshad Nadeem. 🫡" noted one fan, acknowledging the challenges Nadeem overcame to reach this pinnacle.

"You should not hate Arshad Nadeem just because he is Pakistani. What a game, what a player, sports win. Congratulations, Arshad! #ArshadNadeem #Olympics," another fan added, celebrating the spirit of sportsmanship.

Another fan remarked, "Gold for Arshad Nadeem, Silver for Neeraj Chopra. Proud moment for South Asia. We have the best throwers in the World," highlighting the regional pride in both athletes' achievements.

In the end, while emotions ran high, the majority of fans acknowledged the hard work and dedication of all the athletes involved, reminding everyone of the unifying power of sports.
