Hangzhou Asian Games 2022: The Indian Equestrian team comprising Anush Agarwalla, Hriday Vipul, Divyakriti, and Sudipti Hajela on Tuesday (September 26) created history by winning a gold medal in the Asian Games 2023. This is the third gold medal for India in the ongoing continental showpiece, being held in Hangzhou.
The Indian quartet earned an impressive score of 209.205, significantly outperforming the second-placed team from China (204.882) in the Team Dressage and gave the country a first-ever gold in this event after a gap of 41 years.

Hosted in Hangzhou, China, the competition was challenging, lasting for nearly 10 hours with several athletes from all across Asia competing. Despite the stiff competition, the dependable Indian quartet of Agarwalla, Vipul, Divyakriti, and Hajela delivered when it mattered the most.
Anush Agarwalla with his horse ETRO led the Indian fourfold with the highest score of 71.088, followed by Hriday who rode Emerald to score 69.941. Divyakriti, with Adrenalin Firdod, contributed a score of 68.176, while Sudipti, aboard Chinski, added 66.706 to the total.
Collectively, their combined score was unchallenged, ensuring no team came close to their total. They managed to outshine even the top favorites like China and Japan in this event.
This historic win marks a new chapter in India's equestrian sports history. It demonstrates both individual talent and team unison that led the Indian team to this hard-earned victory.
