India has secured five medals in Rowing in the Asian Games 2023. The Indian team participated in various events and managed to snatch 3 Bronze and 2 Silver medals.
India managed to win a Bronze in the Men's Quadruple Sculls. In the final of the event on Monday, the Indian rowers claimed the third spot as they finished the 2 km stretch within 6:08:61 minutes.

Uzbekistan claimed the Silver, while hosts China won the Gold medal. The Indian rowing team consisted of - Jakar Khan, Satnam Singh, Parminder Singh and Sukhmeet Singh. Satnam was at the bow and Sukhmeet was at the stroke position, while the middle two positions were seated by Parminder Singh and Jakar Khan respectively.

Sukhmeet Singh was born in a family of farmers in Kishangarh Pharwahi of district Mansa in Punjab. He joined the Indian Army in 2014, where he got to know about Rowing for the first time and started learning Rowing in 2015. Sukhmeet won the Gold Medal in the Asian Games 2018 in the Quadruple Sculls.

Satnam Singh is a 23-year-old Indian rower from Punjab. The youngster has been a top-notch talent and won the Gold in the National Games in 2022.

Parminder Singh is an Indian rower who hails from Haryana. He is a 2nd generation rower, the son of former Indian rower Inderpal Singh. He primarily competes in single-scull events. In 2019 at the Asian Indoor Rowing Championship, Bangkok he made a new Asian record in the Men's single scull event with the timing of 06.12.4, winning the gold medal in the event.

Jakar Khan hails from the Bharatpur district in Rajasthan, and has been a serial medal winner in Rowing. From 2017 to 2023, Jakar won 8 Silver Medals in the National Rowing Championships. He also won the Gold medal in the 2022 National Games in Gujarat. His international medal list also comprises three silver medals at the Asian Rowing Championships between 2019 and 2022.
