Martin Couvra Leads Team To Victory At Hero Pro-Am Ahead Of Hero Indian Open 2026

French golfer Martin Couvra captained a winning Pro-Am team at DLF Golf and Country Club, setting the tone for the US$ 2.55 million Hero Indian Open. The format highlighted amateur talent and provided strategic, on-course lessons ahead of the main tournament.

French golfer Martin Couvra led his team to win the Hero Pro-Am at DLF Golf and Country Club in Gurugram on Wednesday. The event acted as a key build-up to the US$ 2.55 million Hero Indian Open, which starts Thursday (March 26).

Couvra partnered amateurs Navin Raheja, Kundan Kumar and Mohit Nasa. The group posted a combined score of 33-under to claim first place. The Pro-Am format paired three amateurs with one professional, giving local golfers close exposure to top international players before the main event.

Couvra wins Hero Pro-Am lead-up

One of the most followed morning groups featured Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman, Hero MotoCorp. He teed off alongside three-time PGA Tour winner and Hero MotoCorp Global Brand Ambassador, Akshay Bhatia. Their team, which included Abhimanyu Munjal and Alejandro March, finished at 14-under.

Andy Sullivan team finishes one shot behind

English golfer Andy Sullivan, seeking another title after his 2020 Tour win, guided his team to second place. Playing with Sanjay Bhan, Executive Vice-President, Hero MotoCorp, S Bhagat and Mahaveer Singhvi, they closed at 32-under, just one stroke behind Couvra’s group.

Casey Jarvis continues strong season

South African Casey Jarvis, coming off wins in Kenya and his homeland, secured third place with his team. Playing alongside Kaushik Dutta, Manish Motwani and Arvind Kapur, Jarvis helped the group return a score of 30-under to complete the Pro-Am podium.

The day also featured individual skill contests. Harish Gupta won the straightest drive on Hole No 8 with a shot that stopped at 2 feet. Closest to the pin honours went to Vijay Thomas at 2 feet 10 inches and Anish Sharma at 6 feet 6 inches.

Valuable lessons for amateur golfers

Amateurs who stayed in contention until the end gained useful lessons. Playing alongside seasoned professionals provided them with course management tips and mental notes. These learnings are expected to guide their efforts to grow as amateur golfers in future events.

The main Hero Indian Open begins on Thursday at DLF Golf and Country Club. The first round is scheduled to start at 6:25 AM local time. Many of the professionals from the Pro-Am will return to chase the title and prize purse.
