New Delhi, March 25: Two Indian women boxers Nitu Ghanghas and Saweety Boora will be in action in the ongoing IBA Women's World Boxing Championships 2023 at KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in the Indira Gandhi Sports Complex here on Saturday (March 25).
Having already assured silver medals for the country, both boxers will be participating in their respective final bouts in their respective weight categories and look to win gold medals and make the country proud with their feat.

22-year-old Nitu, who is a two-time Youth World Champion, will face Mongolia's Lutsaikhany Altantsetseg in the Minimumweight (45-48 kg) category championship bout and will be aiming to clinch the gold medal at home.
Nitu - who won gold at the Commonwealth Games 2022 - won her semi-final bout by securing a win by split decision against last edition's silver medallist and Kazakhstan's Alua Balkibekova. With this win, Nitu avenged her quarterfinal defeat to the Kazakh in the 2022 World Championships.
Prior to the semi-finals, the Haryana boxer won three consecutive wins by RSC (Referee Stopped Contest) en route to her semi-final bout. The southpaw was literally unstoppable in her first three games but faced some challenges in the semis. She will now be raring for her maiden World Championship gold at seniors.
Saweety Boora - who also hails from Haryana - has also been in sublime form in the ongoing competition in the 81+kg category. The former silver medallist in the Women's World Boxing Championships, who is playing her third world championships, will take on Wang Lina of China - the 2019 bronze winner and 2018 champion - in the Light Heavyweight (75-81 kg) category.
After receiving a bye in the opening round, Saweety won by a unanimous decision over Belarusian Viktoriya Kebikava in the quarterfinal and secured a win by split decision against Australia's Emma-Sue Greentree in the semi-final round. She will be eager to change the colour of the medal this time around.
