Indian boxer Vijender upsets Athens Olympic medalist

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Ace Indian boxer and Doha Asian Games bronze medalist Vijender, crafted a stunning upset victory over Athens Olympic medalist Suriya Prasarthinphimai of Thailand to reach the semi-finals in the 75 kg category of the 29th King's Cup Boxing Championships at Bangkok.

Vijender continued his good form and scored a convincing 23-10 victory over his much highly rated Thai counterpart, the Indian Amateur Boxing Federation (IABF) release stated.

Apart from Vijender, the other Indian to qualify for the semi-finals include Jitender, where he is pitted against Kim Dae Sung of South Korea.
