Paris, Jul 28: Manu Bhaker created history on Sunday (July 28) as she became the first female shooter from India to win an Olympic medal.
The 22-year-old Haryana girl clinched a bronze medal in the Women's 10m Air Pistol final. She, however, missed the silver medal by a margin of 0.1 points.

She became the third Indian female shooter to make it to the Olympics final and managed to cross the final hurdle and etch her name in the annals of Indian Olympic history.
The Haryana girl narrowly missed the gold medal round by just 0.1 points to Korea's Kim Yeji, who shot a 10.5 on her final shot to secure her spot. Manu Bhaker scored 10.1 and 10.0, avoiding the final elimination round and confirming her medal as Vietnam's shooter finished fourth.
Reflecting on her Tokyo nightmares, Manu Bhaker shared: "Tokyo Olympics was difficult for me, and it took me a long time to get over it, but I don't want to think about it now. Let the past be past!"
Speaking at JioCinema after her medal triumph, Manu Bhaker said: "In the decisive moments, I was thinking about the Bhagavad Gita. I read it a lot, and it says to focus on what you can do and not worry about things beyond your control. That was the only thing on my mind!"
Korea's OH Ye Jin (243.2 points and Olympic Record) bagged the gold while her compatriot Kim Yeji (241.3 points) settled for silver while Manu picked up 221.7 points to finish third.
