The 40-year-old Tarundeep Rai will be heading to his fourth Olympic Games. His previous appearances in the Games came in 2004, 2012, and 2021. On the other hand, Pravin Jadhav is also making his comeback after his Games debut in Tokyo in 2021. Meanwhile, Dhiraj Bommadevara will be making his debut at the Games in Paris. Keep an eye on the South Korean team

World No. 2 archer Kim Woojin, World No. 3 Lee Woo Seok, and ninth-ranked Kim Je Deok will be a part of the South Korean recurve team at the forthcoming Paris Olympics 2024. The World No.1 recurve team, South Korea, will be a strong medal contender at the mega event.

The trio recently participated in three World Cups in Shanghai, Yecheon, and Antalya, winning two gold medals and a silver in team events. In the Shanghai World Cup, India dominated the South Korean archers to bag a gold medal while the latter settled for the silver medal.

Though India dominated the opposition in the first World Cup in Shanghai, they couldn't impact the Yecheon and Antalya World Cups as the South Korean trio propelled their side to two consecutive gold medal victories.

Three strong medal contenders in individual events from South Korea

In individual events, Kim Woojin bagged medals in all three events, including one gold. He initiated the Shanghai edition with a bronze medal. Later, he secured a silver medal in the Yecheon event while clinching a gold medal in the Antalya World Cup.

On the other hand, Lee Woo Seok had mediocre performances, bagging only one medal out of three World Cup events. Though he settled for 17th and ninth positions in the Shanghai and Antalya events, he secured a gold medal in the Yecheon event.

Meanwhile, Kim Je Deok had poor outings in all three World Cup events recently. He ended up with a silver medal, 17th rank, and 17th position in the Shanghai, Yecheon, and Antalya events respectively.

Though Lee Woo Seok and Kim Je Deok couldn’t make a bigger impact in individual events, they would pose a great threat to any opponent when they joined forces with Kim Woojin in team events.

Other teams and individuals to watch out for

German archers Florian Unruh, Jonathan Vetter, and Mortiz Wieser led their team to a silver medal victory in the Yecheon World Cup and they would be a team to keep a keen eye on in the quadrennial event in Paris. However, in the individual events, they couldn't create a significant impact in the recent three World Cup events, failing to secure medals.

Chinese Taipei bagged a bronze medal in the Shanghai World Cup with Canada also settling for a bronze in the Yecheon event. On the other hand, France bagged a silver and China secured a bronze medal in the Antalya World Cup campaign.

The World No. 1 archer from Brazil, Marcus D'Almeida, who bagged a silver medal in the Antalya World Cup event, is one of the strong medal contenders to keep a close eye on.
