Shooting medals in Asian Games 2023: Indian shooters finished with their best ever haul of 22 medals at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, where the country's first medal of the event came in the sport on September 24.
The trio of Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh and Ashi Chouksey bagged the first medal for India in the women's 10m Air Rifle team event on the opening day of shooting competition. Ramita also added a bronze in the individual event on the same day.

On September 25, it was time for the first gold for India in Hangzhou as the trio of Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Rudrankkash Balasaheb Patil and Divyansh Singh Panwar clinched the first yellow metal for India in the men's 10m Air Rifle team event.
Like Ramita, Tomar too added a bronze in the men's 10m Air Rifle individual event. The men's 25m pistol team of Vijayveer Sidhu, Anish and Adarsh Singh also added bronze, taking the shooting medal tally to 5 in just two days.
On September 26, India ended with no medals as they finished runners up in the only event they competed in, the mixed team 10m Air Rifle bonze medal match, which Ramita and Divyasnh Singh Panwar lost to a Korean pair.
On 27 September, however, there was a mini medal rush as Indian shooters won 7 medals - 2 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze, starting with the gold for Women's 25m Pistol team of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan. 18-year-old Esha also added a silver in the individual event.
In women's 50m Rifle 3 positions event, the trio of Sift Kaur Samra, Ashi Chouksey and Manini Kaushik won a silver medal in the team event. Samra and Chouksey added individual medals later in the day as the former won a world record-breaking gold and the latter a bronze.
In the skeet events, Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Gurjoat Singh Khangura combined to win a team bronze, while Anantjeet wrapped up the day with an individual silver, taking Indian's tally in shooting to 12.
On September 28, there was a lone medal for India and it was gold in the men's 10m air pistol team event, won by the trio of Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal and Arjun Singh Cheema. The tally increased to 13.
On September 29, Esha Singh, Palak and Divya TS shot India to Women's 10m Air Pistol team gold, while the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions trio of Tomar, Swapnil Kusale and Akhil Sheoran won gold in the team event.
Later, teenagers - 17-year-old Palak and 18-year-old Esha, also added individual medals in women's 10m air pistol event as the former added gold and the latter silver. Tomar also won an individual silver in 50m Rifle 3P men.
On September 30, Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS won the only medal for India's shooting contingent with a silver in the mixed team event, extending India's shooting medal tally to 18.
On October 1, the ultimate day for Shooting at Asian Games 2023, India added three more medals in trap shooting as the men's trio of Kynan Chenai, Zoravar Singh Sandhu & Prithviraj Toindaman clinched a gold in the team event, while Chenai also won the bronze in the individual event.
Also, the women's trio of Manisha Keer, Preeti Rajak and Rajeshwari Kumari won a silver medal in the team event, finishing the shooting competition with the best haul of 22 in Hangzhou. Here is a look at the complete list of India winners:

The shooting competition has been held in every edition since it was added in the second edition, and India has so far won 80 medals in the discipline at Asian Games. Their best-ever finish before Hangzhou came in 2006 when they won 14 medals.
India first won a medal in the sport or discipline in 1962 edition where Henry Shaw won the lone medal. In 1978, Randhir Singh won the country's first shooting gold medal. Despite their best-ever haul of 22 medals in shooting, they still only finish second in the medal table.
