Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday (September 24) highlighted the untapped potential of the state's sports sector at the Business Conclave held before the MotoGP main event at the Buddha International Circuit in Greater Noida.
Yogi Adityanath assured that both the state and central governments are pouring in efforts to boost this industry. Attended by representatives from various leading domestic and global firms, the conclave also saw the presence of the state's MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan and Industrial, and Exports Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta.

Adityanath announced that over 100,000 tickets were sold for the debut of the thrilling motorcycle race in India at the Buddh International Circuit. He added that the event is backed by over 275 national and international brands including BMW, Tissot, Michelin, RedBull, Shell, DHL, Oakley, Amazon, and Petronas, among others. The minister asserted that these events are excellent opportunities for brand promotion and interaction.
He shared that the MotoGP race is a crucial lure for the global automobile sector and holding such an event in Uttar Pradesh will help exploit the potential for drawing more investments into the state and the country. Echoing PM Narendra Modi's vision, Adityanath confirmed that the government is committed to developing sporting infrastructure and supporting athletes.
Adityanath also underscored that with a population of 250 million, with a significant proportion in the working age group, UP is among the fastest-growing economies in India.
Notably, the Buddh International Circuit, which was erected by the state government in 2011 and is renowned as the host venue for the Formula One Grand Prix, was confirmed as another potential asset for the MotoGP event.
The Chief Minister assured that the state government, in alliance with the Centre, is working towards constructing stadiums and mini-stadiums across every district of the state. He mentioned that their development initiative extends to the district level, with open gyms being developed in the 58,000 village councils where young people and women will be encouraged to embrace sports.
Adityanath also welcomed stakeholders and event organizers in the sports arena to explore investment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh, owing to its advantageous infrastructure with accessible rail, road, and waterway connections and burgeoning logistic opportunities.
Referring to the program at the intersection of the Eastern and Western Freight Corridors where the MotoGP event is taking place, he highlighted the ample prospects for investment that the state presents due to recent reform implementations like ease of doing business and law and order enhancements.
Revealing the remarkable progress made by Uttar Pradesh in the tech sector, which has attracted significant investment inflow being monitored through the 'Nivesh Mitr' portal, he also mentioned the successful organization of the state's inaugural global investor summit in February 2023 in Lucknow.
This attracted a dozen countries including the UK, Italy, Australia, Japan, Singapore, Denmark, the Netherlands, the UAE, and Mauritius fielding investment proposals worth Rs. 36 lakh crore.
Adityanath concluded by welcoming all attendees and expressed hope for similar events being held in the state in the future. He confirmed the state's willingness to accommodate future events at the Buddh International Circuit and explore other potential venues throughout the state. He, along with Gupta, Sachan, and Chief Secretary Durga Shankar Mishra, then enjoyed the gripping bike race from the VIP gallery of the Buddh International Circuit.
