Muzaffarbek Turoboyev Biography

Initially, Muzaffar found judo challenging. He struggled to understand the basics and even considered switching to taekwondo or karate. However, his first victory at a republican tournament ignited his passion and motivation for the sport.

Coaching and Training

Muzaffar trains under the guidance of Ilias Iliadis, a national coach from Greece. His training philosophy is to practise with stronger opponents and never give up. This mindset has helped him achieve significant milestones in his career.

Achievements and Recognition

At 22 years and 189 days old, Muzaffar became the youngest judoka from Uzbekistan to win a gold medal at the World Championships. He claimed the title in the 100kg category at the 2022 edition held in Tashkent. In 2022, he was named Best Sportsman of the Year at the National Sports Awards in Uzbekistan.
