Amos's interest in athletics was influenced by his mother and cousin, both runners. Initially, he was more inclined towards football but shifted focus to athletics after finishing high school in 2011. He joined the Oregon Track Club Elite in Eugene, Oregon, where he trains under coaches Mark Rowland and Justice Dipeba.

Amos made history by becoming the first athlete from Botswana to win an Olympic medal. He secured a silver medal in the 800m at the 2012 London Olympics. This achievement earned him a cheque and six cows from the Botswana government. In 2020, he was listed in Forbes Africa's 30 Under 30 for promising young African entrepreneurs.

Challenges and Injuries

Throughout his career, Amos faced several injuries. In April 2013, he tore his right hamstring but returned to win gold at the World University Games in Kazan.
