Robert Scheidt Biography

Scheidt trains on Lake Garda in Italy. He resides in Garda with his wife Gintare Volungeviciute and their sons Erik and Lukas. Gintare is also an accomplished sailor, having won a silver medal for Lithuania in the Laser Radial class at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Achievements and Honours

Throughout his career, Scheidt has received numerous accolades. In 2020, he was named the Second Best Athlete in Brazilian Olympic history by Globo Esporte. He was also the flag bearer for Brazil at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Additionally, he was named World Sailor of the Year by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) in 2001 and 2004.

Scheidt has faced several challenges, including injuries. In March 2015, he suffered a knee injury that required surgery but returned to competition the following month.
